How do I edit a resource?

Authorized Resource Management operators can update resource details. Changing descriptive fields is different from uploading a file revision or selecting the Active version.
Procedure
- Sign in with an account authorized to manage the intended resource.
- Open GCO2 and select Resource Management.
- Locate the intended resource using its library, filters or search. Confirm the title and existing status before changing anything.
- Select Edit on the correct resource row.
- Review the current resource type, library, category, audience and descriptive information. Make only the approved changes using fields available in the form.
- If the change involves a revised file, follow the separate upload a resource revision procedure. Review existing versions and do not overwrite or silently discard historical revisions.
- Select Update Resource. If a validation notice appears, review and correct the indicated fields.
- Return to the list, reopen the record and verify the saved metadata, revision inventory and Active state.
Important notes
- An operator’s ability to view a resource does not necessarily authorize editing it.
- Uploading a later-numbered revision does not automatically make that revision Active. Explicitly review and select the Active version where authorized.
- When the record’s ownership, scope or publication intent is uncertain, do not proceed until the responsible administrator confirms the change.
Verification
Check the updated record against the approved changes and review available audit results where applicable.
